The only con on this item is the price. Other than that I love it. It toasts well, cleans up easy, and looks great.
i have had really good luck with delonghi products. not only good design but good quality too. this toast gets plenty hot and adjusts pretty accurately.
If you stop it before the crust burns, the middle part will not be toasted enough. My husband is in charge of toast duty, since I find this one very frustrating. You really have to give a LOT of thought to the moisture content and thickness of everything you put in there, making this a difficult toaster to love. The setting button has a large range, but I cannot see ever using the highest setting unless the bread was soaking wet or something. If you buy bakery bread, that has a darker crust you will have to cut them off after it burns them, because it will every time. Thinner bread will always burn too. It never fails to burn, and I stand over it each time, my finger above the 'cancel' button, worrying, fretting, and I usually end up hitting it at least once, starting it again and end up burning the crusts again. AAAAAAAGH.
Beautiful brushed chrome toaster with lots of power. Does a great job on english muffins. Probably the best 2 slice toaster in the world.
Just a few days after the warranty finished, toast started continuously rising and lowering into the toaster - the element never had a chance to do any toasting. I was enticed by the product's appearance. I took it in to the local DeLonghi repair depot, only to be told that no parts were available for the toaster - it was basically chuck the entire product. It also had moderately good reviews. It worked perfectly adequately for about a year and a week. I was not pleased, and wrote to DeLonghi customer service, but they didn't have the courtesy to even respond. A bad experience all around.
